The Awesome Music Hour is a youth-centred program that offers a series of workshops aimed at nurturing self-expression, boosting confidence, fostering resilience, and creating a stronger sense of community through the art of making or engaging with music.
This is achieved through mentorship, peer-to-peer discussions, and educational activities, all rooted in the transformative power of music and covers the following:
Storytelling and exploring the healing and expressive role music plays in our lives.
Music as a communication tool.
Grounding yourself in rhythm.
Creativity for all using music as a creative channel for appreciation and inspiration.
Lyrics as poetry and storytelling, songwriting and its relation to personal experiences.
Music as therapy and its application for physical and mental health.
Wrapping up with reflections on how music can positively impact health, wellness and mental wellbeing.
