Our Strategic Pillars

Using music and storytelling to make a difference in mental health.
Mental health affects us all, and music has the power to heal, connect, and inspire change. At The Awesome Music Project, we’re not just talking about mental health—we’re taking action.
Over the next few years, we’re focusing on four strategic pillars to make a lasting impact:
-
There is a mental health crisis, and we're not sitting on the sidelines. We are here to start conversations, amplify voices and push for real change.
Raise Awareness - spread the word on how music helps mental health from living rooms to board rooms.
Build a Movement - train and support mental health ambassadors (students/musicians) who can share stories and drive change.
Shape the Future - Work with policymakers to make music part of social prescribing so doctors and therapists can formally recommend it as a tool for better mental health.
-
Talking about change isn't enough - we create it.
Deliver Transformative Programs - Design and lead engaging music and storytelling experiences that support mental health for youth and seniors.
Expand Our Reach - Whether it's an AMP-led session or a community partner taking the reins, our programs are built to reach as many people as possible.
Innovate and Refine - We listen, learn and refine to keep our programs fresh, effective and impactful.
-
No one tackles mental health alone. We are stronger together.
Find the Gaps, Fill the Needs - Partner with local organizations to serve the people who need it most.
Heal through Music - whether it's a groups session, music therapy, or a community event we use music to create connection and healing.
Bring Everyone to the Table - Work with schools, senior centers, community partners and social services to ensure music reaches those who benefit the most.
-
To create lasting change we need proof, practice and progress.
Spotlight what works - share and promote existing research on the impact of music on mental health.
Prove What Works - gather real-world insights from our programs to continuously refine, measure impact, and demonstrate how music improves mental health.
Collaborate with Experts - Engage with researchers to push the science forward and embed music into social and health settings.
